The partnership between Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau and Woodruff is rooted in a shared belief: that Columbia has far more to offer than conventional perceptions suggest. Starting with this unique viewpoint, we built Columbia’s brand from the ground up — and as the city evolved, so did the brand and our partnership.

Over the years, we’ve sharpened Columbia’s identity, leaning into the equity of “CoMo” and updating the brand dashboard to reflect a more modern definition of living, working, playing and traveling that matched the city’s growing confidence and ambition.

That foundation enabled agility when it mattered most. In 2018, the Meet CoMo campaign introduced the city through locals as ambassadors sharing the vibe, culture and experiences only insiders know. When COVID hit in 2020, that platform pivoted overnight into CoMoUnity, shifting focus from visitation to community and supporting local businesses, promoting safe activities and reinforcing connection during shutdowns. As the cultural landscape shifted again following the murder of George Floyd, the campaign evolved to center unity, care and shared humanity through authentic local voices. From Meet CoMo Safely that balanced travel with responsibility to the latest Meet Face to Place, the work has continually adapted. Each iteration wasn’t a reset — it was a response to real-world events and cultural trends.

This partnership thrives because it’s built for motion. We move in real time, pivot messaging quickly and use speed as a strategic advantage to outmaneuver bigger, slower cities that can’t keep up with the change. That agility has delivered tangible impact, proving that ambitious brands don’t need outsized resources to drive outsized results.
